It’s already October and we’re well into the tail end of 2022. The cooler weather is invigorating us here at Seifert Jewelry and reminding us of how much we love the fall season. There’s a lot going on this month, so let’s jump right in!

Firstly, October is opal month. We’re sure you’ve seen these captivating stones. They are the ones that appear to embrace a tiny little rainbow when the light hits them, and which subtly changes as you move them under the light and it hits from different angles. They are nothing short of mysterious and captivating, and make for an amazing personalized gift for that unique personality in your circle of friends or family. 

Opals come mainly from Australia, which is the home of the most famous opal, known as the “Olympic Australis”. It is a huge stone weighing in at 17,000 carats, and is thought to be the largest and most valuable opal gemstone ever found, with an estimated value of over $1.5 million USD. We don’t exactly have the Olympic Australis in our store (can you imagine?!), but we do have some amazing opal rings, earrings, and pendants, like these ones.

Secondly, Halloween will be upon us at the end of the month.
