It’s already October and we’re well into the tail end of 2022. The cooler weather is invigorating us here at Seifert Jewelry and reminding us of how much we love the fall season. There’s a lot going on this month, so let’s jump right in!

Firstly, October is opal month. We’re sure you’ve seen these captivating stones. They are the ones that appear to embrace a tiny little rainbow when the light hits them, and which subtly changes as you move them under the light and it hits from different angles. They are nothing short of mysterious and captivating, and make for an amazing personalized gift for that unique personality in your circle of friends or family.

Opals come mainly from Australia, which is the home of the most famous opal, known as the “Olympic Australis”. It is a huge stone weighing in at 17,000 carats, and is thought to be the largest and most valuable opal gemstone ever found, with an estimated value of over $1.5 million USD. We don’t exactly have the Olympic Australis in our store (can you imagine?!), but we do have some amazing opal rings, earrings, and pendants, like these ones.

Secondly, Halloween will be upon us at the end of the month. Let us help you round off that fabulous Halloween costume with a show-stopping piece of unique jewelry, whether it be made with opal or something else. Heading out for a night on the town instead in order to avoid all those trick o’ treaters? Dress up, have fun and make a splash! We have something to brighten up any outfit you’ve been waiting for the right occasion to debut.

Finally, although we’re still a ways off Christmas, let us share a little secret with you: NOW is when some of the best and easiest shopping can be done. For one, we’re bringing in all our fall and winter stock now so you know we’re loaded up with some fantastic new inventory. And it really is true that the “early bird always gets the worm”, since shopping this new inventory now means you’ll have your pick of the best of the bunch, all perfect gifts for Christmas. Also, being only October also means that there’s still plenty of time if you were thinking about that extra-special custom piece for that special someone this Christmas. Check out our custom page, then come in to see us with your ideas and we’ll get the process going.

Don’t forget that we have different options for financing and layaway payments, which are wonderful ways to take the pressure off in January when those Christmas bills come in. (It also means that we’ll safely stow your piece away now until Christmas, making sure it doesn’t get snapped up by someone else!)

So, with opal on the mind, some fun outings ahead and early preparations for Thanksgiving and Christmas under way, October is shaping up to be a great month. Stop by and visit us soon. We are proud to be your local jeweler and to have been serving our community for over a century.
